I was very pleased with the way the unit works...the instructions are very descriptive and illustrated. The theory behind pushing the brake fluid back to the master cylinder works spot on. I used it to bleed an entire new brake system...I installed all new brake lines, master cylinder and calipers. Made it all a one man job with the help of your tool.

I bought one to bleed my brakes without help, but this thing has many others uses! They’re all in the instructions. Worth every penny, and I would definitely buy it again! Also, I love the fact that the company asked what I thought of their product weeks after I got it and had the time to use it!

Poorly designed. It leaked several places on the gun itself and leaked at the bleeder fitting while under pressure. Any kind of pressure would cause the gun to leak and the bleeder fitting. After many attempts to get it to work, I ended up throwing it in the garbage

It took a bit of effort to get the plunger to move freely because the tolerances were so tight but once it got used a bit it became a great tool for working on the old 1946 CJ2. We had a rough time with corrosion in the lines but ran acetone and atf mixed trough them and them pumped the line empty. It worked and filled the empty line up and once there was a base amount in the reservoir we topped that off and were able to stop the old jeep without any further work. I do recommend this for any hobbyist, I would recommend the commercial version if you have an actual shop.

Trying to bleed rear brakes and the hose connection kept coming off and when I held it in place, it leaked and didn’t force the fluid through the wheel cylinder.

The system worked really well to prime a brand new brake system I had installed on my cj5. However, I feel like you can't really power bleed properly. Once the brake system was full of fluid, the tool just leaked fluid at all the various joints/connections more than it pushed fluid up to the reservoir. Kind of disappointed. I guess thats what you get for $60.

Bled brakes with this and could not get a firm pedal. Bleed them with someone pumping the brakes and got ALOT of air out. Maybe work better on other applications like clutch bleeding, but did not work for me bleeding brakes.

The instructions need to be more clear, and you need to explain what happens if your bleeder doesn't work. I'm sure I got a bad one. Because I've never heard of anyone having problems with this before and I follow a few mechanics.

Mind you, I purchased the DIY unit but I would imagine they should all function the same. I also purchased the additional bottle to assure I had the best set up possible. Been fighting air in my lines on an old LS430. While I was using the unit I could see small bubbles in the chamber which was concerning, so I assured I had the correct setup and moved forward. After I completed all 4 wheels I used the brake pedal and it was not sufficient to even moved the car from the shop. I then proceeded to complete the bleeding sequence with my son at the pedal to manually bleed the brakes (which I had done numerous time before using the tool) and I had gained a very good pedal. Overall, the unit ok--I am an ASE certified master tech and my favorite tool for bleeding brakes is a pressure bleeder from the top down which I no longer have access to being retired from the industry. Maybe this tool does work, maybe I didn't use it correctly, maybe it did help with my issue. For a DIY product I did not expect a miracle tool just something that would work. Ill probably not use it again which is a bummer.

It works fine except it won't push fluid through the prop valve. You can get good fluid to the prop valve though.

Cheap plastic that broke first use. I pushed in the fluid then the handle would not rebound to draw in New fluid. I sent emails requesting refund or at least warranty the item and let me try again. I did not recieve any response. I do NOT recommend this product or company. Feel like I wasted my money.

Garbage...for real. Rubber pieces don't stay on bleeder under pressure. Pressure varies, sometimes quick sometimes slow as hell.

The V5 is absolutely junk. Plastic junk. I tried using it on my clutch and the handle broke first time. I tried to return it and they said you used it no refund. Do not buy. It will break and Pheonix will not stand behind their product.

I ordered the V5. I tried using it but it does not work. It pushes the fluid out ok but does not rebound and suck in New fluid. I even tried it with no fluid push in ok but no rebound. I have to move it back by hand. Then the handle snaps off. This thing is cheap made and does not work.

I really love the concept of this tool, but I’m sorry to say it did not perform as expected. The biggest draw back I saw was the the bleeder valve doesn’t seal around the threads which allows the fluid to bleed out around those threads. Almost as much fluid that got bled thru the system, also bled around the valves threads onto the floor. I even tried using teflon tape to seal the threads, but the fitting was too loose to make enough difference and I didn’t to add more tape for fear of jeopardizing the seal of the valve once the lines were bled. I ended up doing the job the old fashioned way. I do have an idea that would make this work perfectly. Make a spring loaded ball valve to replace the bleeder valve that would not only seal around the threads, but also serve to cut off the flow once bleeding is finished. Anyway, sorry for the negative review, I really wanted it to work, that’s why I bought it.

The hose doesn't stay securely on the bleeder valve and the pressure you need to use makes it feel lime you're going to break the system. It works but is messy. I'd buy it again if I didnt have one already because it makes it a little easier than having to have someone pumping the brakes. But you still need another person to watch the master cylinder and the bubbles.

Ran all new brake lines myself.
Never bled any brake system till now.
This was SO EASY, SO RELIABLE, and easy to use.

It’s very sticky, had to take it apart just to get the thing to pump then it doesn’t want to return! Not happy with it at all and the fittings for bleeding are loose fitting! Half the time they blow off

What a mess, I expected the lines to stay on , ever time I loosened the bleeder fluid would come out between bleeder and caliper and the Handel/ plunger would get stuck. I think the concept is good but I didn’t consider bleeder/caliber issues
